Make Music Day 2021 goes hybrid
After being held entirely virtually and on-line last year, thanks to the pandemic, San Jose’s Make Music Day 2021 will have in-person as well as online performance opportunities.
Celebrated on June 21, Make Music San Jose coincides with festivities in more than one thousand cities worldwide as part of Make Music Day. https://www.makemusicday.org/
The whole idea for the day is to share the joy of making music with everyone that wants to take part, from professional to amateur musicians, as well as the musically curious.
Typically we celebrate with performances and play-along events at venues throughout the city. This year, as we move back to a full-reopening, the celebration will be online with limited in person events.
Being a part of Make Music San Jose locally, and Make Music Day globally, is an opportunity for us to come together in spirit and celebrate the music that brings us joy. Sign up as a venue or a performer. https://sj.makemusicday.org/
City Dance San Jose returns this summer
In partnership with the San Jose Museum of Art, the Office of Cultural Affairs will be producing three FREE CityDance San Jose events this year that will align with First Fridays at the Museum.
These three lively events will be on August 6th, September 3rd, and October 1st at the Circle of Palms from 6PM to 9PM. Guests will participate in an hour of instructor-led dance lessons followed by live music and dancing. Grab a bite to eat and a drink at the Museum's Cafecito by Mezcal, check out the new exhibits at the Museum, and dance the night away! We will be following State Covid-19 protocols and guidelines to keep everyone safe while enjoying the event.
City Dance SJ 2021 is being produced in partnership with the San Jose Museum of Art's First Fridays, and is completely free of charge and open to all ages.
