After more than 100 days spent in the State’s Purple Tier, the highest level of restriction, Santa Clara County businesses return to the Red Tier on March 3, 2021, thanks to a dramatic reduction in the County’s COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths.
Effective Wednesday, March 3, businesses and activities must comply with all industry-specific mandatory directives set forth by the County and State, including having an updated Social Distancing Protocol on file and displayed.
The following businesses and activities are now allowed to resume in compliance with the State’s framework for the Red Tier and the County’s
Risk Reduction Order:
- Restaurants may resume indoor service, at 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is less
- Retail and grocery stores can operate indoors at 50% capacity
- ·Museums, zoos, aquariums: allowed to open indoors at 25% capacity
- Gyms and fitness centers: allowed to open indoors at 10% capacity
- ·Movie theaters at 25% capacity
- Indoor shopping malls are allowed to open indoors at 50% capacity
