SANTA CLARA COUNTY'S COMMERCIAL TENANT EVICTION MORATORIUM HAS BEEN FURTHER EXTENDED THROUGH MARCH 31, 2021.

Post Date:11/18/2020 3:30 PM

Once the moratorium expires, all tenants will have up to six months to repay at least 50% of the past-due rent and a further six months to completely pay all past-due rent they owe.  The County requires a landlord to inform a tenant of their repayment rights under the moratorium before starting a repayment plan with the tenant.

If a commercial tenant chooses to end the leases before the end of the eviction moratorium ordinance, the county’s repayment terms and protections will not apply after that lease has been terminated.

Please read the updated County FAQ for more detailed information. If you have questions, email covid19business@sanjoseca.gov.
