Restaurants Make FOG Compliance Easy with SwiftComply

Post Date:10/28/2020

The City of San José is dedicated to providing innovative ways to help businesses thrive while also ensuring the health of customers and the environment. With those goals in mind, the Environmental Services Department is offering a SwiftComply, a free ongoing, online service for managing and reporting grease control device pump-outs that allows restaurants to demonstrate compliance without an in-person inspection.

After an initial launch of the program in September 2019, more than 200 facilities have already signed up to use the digital compliance solution that simplifies maintenance records retention and allows businesses to remotely demonstrate compliance with section 15.14.650 of the San José Municipal Code.ESD Sewer overflow

Restaurant owners can complete a short enrollment form at https://www.fogregister.com/sanjose/ that will allow them to upload their latest manifest and details from their most recent FOG pump-out or select a service provider to upload future records on their behalf. Uploading records online helps the City reduce the number of inspections at enrolled facilities, reduces FOG discharges from food service establishments, reduces blockages that impact restaurants’ plumbing, and prevents sanitary sewer overflows that harm our creeks and bay.
