We know what a difficult time this is for businesses, employers and workers in San Jose. City Hall is closed to all workers except those essential for supporting our emergency response, and most are working remotely while sheltering in place. A large number of the staff in the Office of Economic Development have been activated to the City’s Emergency Response effort, specifically to support the businesses that are critical to the city’s functioning and economic future.

You will have received emails from with suggestions and links to help weather the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, and we will continue to send timely updates. In the meantime, please keep checking the links provided here, and be sure to “refresh” your browser each time you re-visit, to be sure you are seeing the most recently updated version of the page you are checking.

We would also like to be able to share ideas and stories showing ways in which our business community is working within the extreme restrictions required to limit the spread of Coronavirus. If you have a tip to share, a story of a new approach you are taking, or a shout-out to an individual or group that has been helpful, please send it to Elisabeth.handler@sanjoseca.gov and we will be happy to feature the contributions in future blogposts and other channels.
