To help ensure this mosaic of top innovators, thinkers and workers is ready for the evolving needs of business, work2future, provides multi-lingual workforce development services throughout San Jose and south Santa Clara County and brings under one roof a multitude of pre-paid employment resources for both job seekers and businesses alike by:
- helping job seekers obtain the skills and training they need to find a job
- assisting businesses in meeting their workforce and economic development needs
- enabling youth to jump-start their career with skills training and job search assistance
The local administrative arm of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA) and strategically positioned within the City of San Jose Office of Economic Development, work2future operates One-Stop Centers that serve the areas of San Jose, Campbell, Morgan Hill, Los Altos Hills, Gilroy, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Monte Sereno, and the unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County. The Department of Labor is the main funding stream for the centers. Other sources include state, local, and federal grants and corporate support.
By providing San Jose’s diverse communities with a world-class workforce that fosters economic development, work2future collaborates with businesses, residents, government, educational and community-based organizations to maximize local and regional employment opportunities, and serves as the catalyst in the development and implementation of a comprehensive workforce strategy.
